What exactly am I paying for?
It goes far beyond just holding down the shutter button and snapping pictures. For a two hour session there's travelling to and from the session, research of location(s), multiple hours in client/photographer contact, hours of culling through for the best photographs and editing those photographs. Time spent backing up photos and money invested into professional equipment, training, insurance, online galleries, and many other things.
Easily put, a two hour portrait session is not only two hours; it begins before the session and doesn't end afterwards. But that's all reasons why paying a professional can be a value to people because it's time and energy that doesn't fall on you.
Time is one of our most valuable resources and if I can save you time, energy and money by being your pro; that's a good feeling!
